Wellll my World Race gap year is officially finished. 😭

Here’s what my last week looked like!!!

Sunday is when our final debrief technically started. K squad lead worship, and I pretty much chilled all day up until my team’s debrief. That night we met as a squad and Ari spat an insane message from the Holy Spirit. God has done SOOO much emotional healing already.

Wednesday was our last full day on the Race. I lead worship with Mollie, Carter, Gabi, and also Nick and Emma. We had one last session, then had the afternoon to pack and get ready for the final banquet. We took some pictures, then had dinner and speeches. We had one last worship session, then we were commissioned by the staff. My squad went out to Taco Bell for our last night together, then I stayed up late with Jaylynn.

Mollie, Bella, Alia, Lee, and I got up early Thursday morning to take JJ to coffee because IT WAS HER BIRTHDAY! We all spent time with God, then went back to the base to finish packing and cleaning. At 9:00am, the goodbyes started. We first said bye to Sophia, then Liv. Everyone was crying by that point. People driving home started leaving one by one, then at 10:00am we left for the airport. When we arrived at the airport, that’s when everyone dispersed. I was left with Lexi, Cimmie from K squad, Alexis from L squad, Carter, and Gabi while I waited to check my bag. Eventually I checked my bags and went to the food court with Carter and Gabi where we met Brandon, Naty, and Alexis. I got Taco Bell and when I got back, Carter was talking to this Indonesian family. They were Christians and they were so sweet when we told them we were missionaries. The mom Teti bought Carter, Gabi, Bella from K squad, and me all Starbucks. We got back and I talked to another Christian lady named Kelly for a while. We all prayed together, then I said my goodbyes and went through security. My plane left at 5:30pm to Dallas. My gate was basically across the way from me to fly to Colorado Springs, so I just walked around the airport for a little. Finally, my plane took off at 8:45pm, and I arrived at home at 10:00pm. Mom, Dad, Savannah, and Marcus were all there to pick me up! We got my bags, drove to In-N-Out, then drove home. I saw Sophie for the first time (and Wammie) which was really sweet. She was confused for a second lol. Mom set up my room all pretty for when I got there.

Woke up early!

I’M HOME!!!

Being home is crazyyyyyyyy. It felt like a fever dream for a little while. I have a lot to process from being on the Race, and I know it’s not going to take only a few days. I’m so thankful that one thing I know for sure is that God stays the same and His love never changes. I’m all in it for Him. Praise God for my amazing family and friends, and my beautiful home in Colorado Springs. I’m already missing my squad, but I know I’m going to see them again so I don’t have to fret.

Thank you God for the World Race.

I LOVE YOU M SQUAD
