Week 2 in Malaysia was awesome but definitely tough.
We got to teach our normal three days of school, but we actually did another day on Thursday to show the ministry to one of PT’s pastor friends. To be honest most of us weren’t thrilled about doing another day when we found out about it the morning before. Emotionally it was difficult to pull ourselves together for teaching to our kids after an already tiring week. Which by the way, we’ve all agreed English is dumb and we should low key change our language lol. By the end of class on Thursday though, I was so happy we did an extra day. These kids have so much joy. It breaks my heart that it’s not the Holy Spirit, but I really believe we’ll sow seeds in their hearts for later in their lives.
Wednesday I got to share an abbreviated version of my testimony during house church. I was a little nervous before because one of my fears is public speaking, so I’m praying Jesus breaks that off this trip. While I was speaking I was still a bit jittery, but it went well! Also this past week I started playing guitar a bit more. During Covid I spent a lot of time playing the ukulele and then played a bit of guitar. I forgot how fire it is to play your own music. So the last few days I’ve played more! Also a fear I’ve had literally since I was really young was singing with my real voice in front of people. When I did theater my sophomore that was a huge step for me, and during church on Friday I got to lead a worship song with three other squad mates. I feel like God wants me to use the voice He gave me, even if I don’t think it’s good, so every time we worship I get more and more confident. 🙂
I had some really great conversations this week. I heard more of my friends’ testimonies which UGH was just so awesome. QUALITY TIME IS ON TOPPPPP!!
It was a little funny because yesterday (Saturday the 26th), the whole squad and I went to a wedding to perform Church Clap 😭. Honestly though it ended up being the best time. At the end we just got to dance all together which was so fun.
Something my squad has really been undergoing is an unusual amount of sickness in all different forms. Some people have colds, some are nauseous, some had fevers, and a lot are feeling extremely achy. Praise God because he has blessed me so much with good health. I can feel everyone at home praying for me because it’s seriously so insane how I haven’t gotten sick. Not only physical health but emotionally throughout the week I’ve been really stable. Whenever I’ve asked God for peace/joy/patience (whatever it is) He gives it. It’s actually insane. We had a seminar about prayer from 9am-4pm. I got really frustrated because I could NOT stay awake. On top of that talking about praying and having conversations with God is still a touchy subject for me. But every time the disappointments of not having a breakthrough arise, He always turns it around to be something good. I talked with Lee who’s one of our leaders and he just encouraged me. God has really shown up this week like He always does, I guess just not in the ways that I want Him to. Which obviously He has a plan and His timing is perfect. So very thankful for everything this week.
Wow!
I am so blessed by the way God is using you and growing you. God is so good!!
