NAP TIME POST TRAVEL DAY(S)

UPDATE FOR FIRST WEEK IN MALAYSIA: Post travel to Sungai Petani we were all exhausted, but we got to rest all day after. Thankfully I didn’t experience bad jet lag, though jumping ahead 12 hours was WILD. All 34 of us are sleeping in the sanctuary of a church for the next month and a half. We have two showers/toilette stalls upstairs which is also where our kitchen and dining room is.

Friday night we cleaned out all of our luggage and sleeping stuff to have church in the sanctuary. None of the worship or teaching was in English, but the Holy Spirit was present. It’s so crazy because God isn’t restricted to language. Everyone in the world who loves Him are bonded in the soul and WOOWWW you could just feel it the entire service.

Yesterday I felt so blessed because we were able to go to the mall and laundromat. There had some of the most fruitful conversations and quality time that I’ve had in a while. Overall it was so nice just to get out and see more of the town a little bit.

I think most of us came here expecting something “better” in terms of where we were staying. Obviously it’s not super comfortable to sleep on the floor, sleeping pad to sleeping pad, with everyone. Using the restroom where everyone else is eating dinner isn’t pleasant, but we are so blessed. We have a roof, running water, bathrooms that are inside, A/C IN THE BASEMENT!! In the past few days, God has given me so much patience where at home I would not have done well. I’m learning to be grateful for everything we have and that we’re given. I also feel SO joyful and at peace overall. I truly do want to be a light to my squad and look more like Jesus every day.

This coming week of ministry will be sooo awesome. We have the privilege of teaching Muslim refugee kids from ages 5-18 English. There are 35 in total, so almost all of us will be one on one with a student. I know this will be challenging for me, but God has a plan and we’re all in His hands.

Praying the Holy Spirit fills you with His wisdom and grace.
