WHAT A BEAUTIFUL 4 WEEKS! I’ve been back in Colorado for a couple days now just taking it slow and getting time with my family. I wish I could’ve updated weekly, but I sadly I didn’t have my laptop in Jamaica. Halfway through I sent an email to my supporters, so here’s a rendition of the email with details added.

I’m already more than halfway through my trip to Jamaica, so I wanted to give a little update:

God is doing so much over here. Our ministry in Jamaica has consisted mainly of rebuilding roofs from the disaster of hurricane Melissa in October 2025. God has given Adventures Relief this specific task. There was so much destruction that a large percentage of people still don’t have a functioning roof months after the storm. People on my squad who have never touched a power drill are now up on houses and churches installing new zinc roofs.

My 12 girls (Ava, Avery, Dia, Ellie, Julianna, Kendall, Lena, Lilly, Payton, Skyler, Sophie, Taylor) and 2 guys (Vijay and Woods) are seriously the BEST. Each person in this group has a deep hunger for the Lord and it encourages me every day. They uplift me and challenge me. Their desire to love the people here and good attitude to pivot the schedule whenever necessary has been stunning. Our squad ended up adopting three more boys (Layne, Hudson, and Roman.) Layne is a 16 year old who has a lot of construction experience and was the team lead for days on the roof. Hudson and Roman planned to be here for one week, but ended up staying for two.

Adventures Relief focuses on 6 values: Pace of Peace, Relationship Over Task, We Do Uncomfortable, Learning Loops with Feedback, A Need is Not a Calling, and God’s Got It. I’ve learned so much already with abiding by these values. The leadership team here is incredible. Dominique, Malik, Monica, and Sam have been the absolute best and they each walk so in step with the Spirit. Of course I was nervous being the only squad leader, but the Lord knew and He was already abundantly covering me. I’ve been poured into a lot by these people.

Daily, we have morning devos that focus on a different Adventures Relief value each time. What could be short, 15 minute devotionals turn into hour long times of discussion, prayer, confession, and exhortation. And almost every night, we have a different person on my squad share their testimony. There is SO much fruit with being able to come around each other to provide a safe space for their story, exhort them, and pray for them. WE ARE CONQUERING THE ENEMY BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB AND THE WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY. (By the end of the trip, everyone— including Layne, Hudson, and Roman— shared their testimony).

There are so many beautiful memories to look back on from this trip:

-Having a spontaneous 3 hour speaker worship session

-Baptizing Lena and Lilly in a pretty river

-Seeing our friend Buju come to the Lord, get baptized, and baptize his kids

-Having one on ones with my people

-Laughing at the insane rain while trying to get the open roof tarped up

-Taking a spontaneous walk to talk with people after finishing a roof

-Singing worship songs in the van

-Going to gorgeous beaches

-Connecting with people while my squad was building their roof

-Hanging out on our rooftop

-Having movie nights in our family room

-Taking communion for Monica’s birthday dinner and singing Jesus at the Center of It All

-Our security guard named Flemming singing to us

-Praying over the generator

-Eating Payton’s desserts

-Having testimonies every night

SOOOO MUCH MORE!! If anyone wants to get lunch to hear more and I get to hear about your life, please comment!!

This short little season of leadership taught me so many things. The Lord was teaching me how to walk in freedom from leading in fear, how to lead out of overflow, and how to walk at the pace of peace. Peace marked this trip 100%. I was empowered by my mentor Hannah, yet supported by her. I got to understand what it feels like to live under the Lord’s light yoke because I just get to participate in what He’s doing. As a leader, I need to be filled by Him so that I can lead out of 100% capacity, being led by His Spirit for what’s most important in the moment. I got to squash the lie that I wasn’t doing enough as a leader, because my only goal was to bring glory to God. SO AWESOME. There was a ton of freedom on this trip and the Lord is so faithful to do what He does best. He fights the battles in my mind if I just allow Him to.

This has absolutely been a divine interruption to what could’ve been an average next couple months. I am so thankful He called me into this new season of leadership!
