EASTER WEEK!!! (AKA Holy Week)

Monday, since I sabbathed on Saturday, I went with Lexi to S&L’s ministry at the Prayer House! There were basically two sessions of worship, and two messages, with a few breaks in between. Wow God actually gave me so many revelations during this time. I’m SO glad I had the opportunity to go. That night, Jaylynn, Karis, Carter, Jackson and I continued our Bible study in Matthew around the fire.

Tuesday morning we went to the prayer room in the Reindom House!! We then went to Santa Marta and I did dishes for most of our time at the village today.

Wednesday we could only go to the Kingdom Table again today, but it was really fun! My team and I performed a skit about the crucifixion, then we served cereal and bean bread. During the sermon, they had people nail things to the cross that they wanted to leave there. SO beautiful. We came home, did some team worship that night, then I watched Shrek with Emery!

For activation Thursday, Alyssa talked about intercession and the power of prayer. We didn’t go out for ATL, but we stayed back and did an hour of intercession for the people of Antigua, specifically for Easter week.

Friday was Good Friday! No one had ministry today. My leader Ava came up to me during activation yesterday asking if I would be down to read through the New Testament today. I said yes maaaaaam, so we started reading Matthew at 8:00am. After a few breaks (and skipping over Mark and Luke) we made it halfway through 1 Corinthians by dinner at 5:30pm. We were reading the Bible for basically 9 hours straight. That’s the most I’ve ever read anything in one sitting, and it just shows how alive the Bible is because it was so filling. I had a one on one with Ava at dinner to hear her testimony finally! THEN I went to lead worship with Grace. Grace had a song come to her in a dream that she’s been wanting to actually write, so we sang it tonight! Alia read the crucifixion story, then we watched Passion of the Christ. It was my first time watching it, and wow. It’s hard for me to wrap my mind around what Jesus when through for us, but having this really put it back into prospective. I felt a righteous about of heaviness after.

Saturday, my team (plus Gigi) went to Sumpango for Reindom’s “Splash Day,” which was basically a full VBS day. We got there at 8:00am, helped get everything set up, then our kids arrived. Each girl got a team to be with, and I was actually the photographer/videographer today. I did put my camera down at one point to get soaked at one point, but other than that, the camera was my job 😚. They ate breakfast after getting split up into teams, listened to a sermon and a few kids got prayed for, danced to worship music and got DRENCHED, then went into the activities with stations. Today finished off with lunch, we helped clean up, then left at 3:00pm.

EASTER SUNDAY!! Everyone woke up and got all dressed up. I went to church in Paramos with Jaylynn, Carter, Mollie, and Lauryn. The whole service was in Spanish, but it was still so good. We talked with Junior and his family for a while after the service. We then headed home and ate lunch. Later in the afternoon, the squad started preparing Easter dinner together. We all ate, cleaned up, Reagan gave a FIRE sermon about the bridegroom, and Mollie and Bella lead worship. It was a super sweet Easter.

Easter Evening

There were a few other things from this week. On Tuesday, the MOGs left to go with their ministry and adventure around Guatemala until Saturday. I missed them lots, but it was actually so healing to just be with the girls for a few days. Also at the Prayer House, they talked about how fasting should be a regular thing in Christians’ lives (I’ve been wanting to fast but haven’t had the drive for anything specifically) so I thought I would fast for Easter. Jaylynn and I fasted from Thursday to Sunday morning. I had a really fruitful time interceding and learning my role more in that way, reading scripture on Friday while hungry was filling, and God really sustained me during Splash Day. This fast felt pretty hard, but God still was moving.
FIRE WEEEEK! Ready to soak up these last 16 days in Guatemala. 🥲
