Dude this week just finished, and now we only have three more weeks of ministry in Guatemala. 🥲

Tuesday we went to the Reindom house to start our day with prayer like normal, then we went to the village in Santa Marta. Today I helped serve the food, then was with the little kids the rest of the day. Afterwards, our amazing driver/security guard Manuel drove my team and the boys to get food after ministry. I WENT TO WENDY’S FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 8 MONTHS. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. BACONATOR COMBO WITH COKE ZERO. SO GOOD.

Wednesday we went to do the Kingdom Table! This week our leader was Lee, so this was his first day with us. I actually got to sing two worship songs with Jaylynn for the women, then Loyda did a sermon. We served food, then I helped with dishes at the end. We all went back to the Reindom House to film a video, but sadly we couldn’t go to the Bible study at the village because the van wasn’t working. My team took the chicken bus to get some lunch, then we came back to base and cleaned the other teams’ rooms for the rest of our ministry day.

ACTIVATION THURSDAY! Junior gave a sermon about spiritual warfare and our authority that we have in Jesus. They paired us up with another person on the squad to go out for ATL, and we could either go to Paramos or Chimal. I GOT PAIRED UP WITH MOLLIE (from team Radiant). We prayed about where to go, and ended up going to Paramos. When we got there, we walked around and talked, and eventually walked into a bakery. I purchased a little turtle loaf of sweet bread, which I devoured, then we walked to a neighborhood. There was an open door to a house with two little boys playing in it. We both looked at it as we walked passed, but Mollie did a double take and we went back to ask if we could come in. Google Translate carried of course because we do not speak Spanish, but we had the opportunity to talk to the mom. We asked about her family and where she’s from, and then asked her if she went to church. She’s a Christian, and lives with her mom, two sons, and daughter. We prayed over them all to bless them, then left the house. After leaving, we stopped by Melendrez and Mollie bought me a chai, then we started talking to our friend Alexis who was there. We had such a fruitful hour and a half conversation. That night, Lee shared his testimony with my team.

On Friday we lead a few things for the prayer room, then headed to the village. Today I did house visits with Naty, Lee, and Oliver. We trekked up a huge hill and hiked around to eventually find a house with a young mom and her three kids. We talked to her for a little bit, finding out she believes in Jesus. We prayed for her, then headed to another house. There was another mom here with four kids, and Oliver preached the gospel to her! She seemed very receptive and grateful. We then headed back to serve food, and I went with the big kids upstairs. I ended the day at soccer with Kat and the little kids. We finished ministry, and Manuel took us to McDonald’s hehehe.

Saturday our ministry was cancelled, so I stayed home and Sabbathed so I could go to S&L’s ministry on Monday. My team lead squad church as our form of serving our squad, so Lexi, Naty, and Lee lead worship, and Liv gave a message about faith and hope. I got to hear Sophia’s testimony tonight, YAY, but thennnn I started feeling physically off afterwards. It felt like I had a fever like I was going to throw up, so for a couple hours I laid in the bathroom waiting. I threw up eventually, but I prayed a lot beforehand, and felt so much better so I could sleep in my bed. I woke up and felt totally fine! God casually healed me.
Sunday morning I left with Jaylynn, Mollie, Maya, and Grace to Antigua for Mollie to get tatted. She’s never gotten a tattoo, and today she went for eight. LOLL. Today was also Palm Sunday! The processions were crazy, and also so beautiful. The streets were flooded with people and all the “carpets” on the ground were gorgeous. When we got to the tattoo place, I left with Maya to get food at a coffee shop called Elemental. We got drinks for the other girls, then went back to see how Mollie was doing. Five hours later when she was finished, I headed home with her and Jaylynn.

Ministry this week was a little harder in terms of patience. I really do want to love on these kids so well these last few weeks, and not be driven by the circumstance of their attitudes. I did have a great time with Lee as our leader, and getting fast food after ministry was SO HYPE. I had a few more mornings of Early Morning Intimacy which was really good even though I felt tired a lot. I’m so grateful that God continues to keep me present. Also the healing thing the night I was sick was crazy. It reminded me that sickness is not from God, so if He doesn’t have something He want to do with it, He will heal if I ask. I was very encouraged by that.
Threeeeee and a half more weeks in Guatemala!
